Pauline Covington passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at age 92 in Aliceville Manor Nursing Home, Aliceville, Alabama.
Born, July 16, 1924 in Yazoo County, Mississippi she was the daughter of the late William Patterson, Sr. and Ina Redd Ward.
She is survived by her son, William A. (Tony) Covington (Teresa) of Carrollton, Alabama, one granddaughter, Christina Leigh Winstead (Michael), two great-grandchildren, Austin and Aubrey Sue Winstead of Senatobia, Mississippi and beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, William Oliver Covington; son, Paul Randall Covington; sisters Audrey Callahan, Nita Dew and Lucille Hendrix and brothers, Charlie Ward and William P. (Dude) Ward, Jr.
Raised in the Mississippi Delta, Pauline worked as a telephone operator and sheriff’s deputy. Later in life she worked as a caregiver for the elderly in the Pickens County Alabama area. Pauline enjoyed spending time with family and friends all of whom she loved dearly.
