Elizabeth Hutchison Dickerson, 94, seamstress died July 24, 2015 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Funeral services will be 10 am Monday, July 27, 2015 at Sallis Baptist Church in Sallis. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Southern Funeral Home in Durant. Burial will be in Sallis Cemetery in Sallis. Pallbearers will be Mike Crowder, James Hicks, Tommy Upchurch, Ricky Upchurch, Johnny Pilgrim, Craig Cox, Josh Crowder and Jordan Clark. Bro. Gene Richardson and Bro. Lyn Nations will officiate.
Mrs. Dickerson was a former seamstress for Henson Kickernick and Durant Sportswear. She was a member of Sallis Methodist Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher for the Methodist Sunday school class since 1995. She was a Godly woman and a roll model to all.
Survivors are daughters, Mary Evelyn Crowder (Joe) of Durant, Rowena Upchurch (Billy) of Sallis, Sandra Hicks (Jimmy) of Sallis, Celia Holley (Trent) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Peggy Smith (Max) of Sallis and Nell Prevost of Clinton; 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a son, Harold Dickerson; daughter, Bettie Pilgrim; 2 grandchildren, Bryan Dickerson and Donna Chapman; 1 great granddaughter, Shelly Guider; and 3 sisters.
