Dear Joe and family,
I know grief is not a journey any of us want to take. Some of us have traveled this road before, and for some of us it is an unfamiliar trip that feels more like a nightmare that we hope we wake from. You must remember that God will be with you mourning along with you in your sadness, and as you try to weather the storm, waves will build that will seem hard to stay afloat. Have faith, because as you tread water each day barely gasping for breath, all of a sudden there will be calm seas where you can breath again. Sometimes the waves are made from your own tears, and you will feel as though you have already cried an ocean and how could there possibly be one drop left, but there will be. Jesus wants you know that grief and sorrow are seeds of love. Jesus wants you to know that you cannot stand on mountain tops of love without walking through an occasional valley. We hurt so much because we love so much, and it is an honor and a privilege from the Grace of God to grieve - because it is the true testament of how much we love and are loved. Someday, not today, not tomorrow, but maybe someday soon in the near future, your memories of sorrow will be once again filled with love and joy and remembrance of a happier time, a happier day, and a happier memory. Every little thing that you once took for granted - a gesture, a smile, a joke, a laugh, a hug, a memory will be forever imprinted in your heart and surround by love whenever you think of it. Through this the most important thing is to remember that you are not alone, and are surrounded by Jesus, family, neighbors, friends, co-workers, even strangers that will be there to support you. You and your children and grandchildren and future generations will be your Father's legacy, you husband's legacy, and your brother's legacy, and he will live on through each of you until Heaven brings you together again someday.
With Heartfelt Sympathy,
Love, Aunt Darien / Darien Terrell

Dear Martha, Joe and Family,

John was a good man. He was friendly with no pretense and I liked him immediately. I'm sure most people who met him did. It didn't take long to realize how dedicated he was to all of you either. He really defined what a "family man" is. His loss will be all the more difficult to accept and cope with because of who he was. I'm praying that the Lord will comfort and strengthen you, now and always.

May God bless you all,
