Obituary for Charlton Kellam Magee

Charlton Kellam Magee, 87, of Brandon, MS went to be with our lord and savior Jesus Christ on 9/18/2020.

Born in Atlanta, GA 8/11/1933. She graduated from Henry Grady High School, Atlanta, GA in 1950 and went on to graduate from Woodrow Wilson College of Law, Atlanta, GA in 1952, with a law degree. She married James Harold Patrick in 1951. They moved to Jackson, MS in 1959 and raised 2 children, James Robert Patrick and Lynda Kaye Hendrick.

She worked at various Law Firms in Jackson for several years, and started a successful wholesale pizza processing company “C &C Pizza” in the late 60’s – early 70’s. She retired from Ms. Workers Compensation Legal Department in 2006 where she worked for 26 years.

She was a league bowler in Jackson for many years in the 60’s and 70’s. She also coached the kids bowling team the ‘Bantams’.

She learned calligraphy and framed many scriptures for gifts for others. She was an avid cat lover – especially yellow tabbies. She had many in her lifetime. She also loved the outdoors – camping, gardening, potting plants, and just watching the birds on her many feeders.

She was crazy about her grandchildren and great grandchildren -- always looking forward to a visit or a dinner out. In her later years she spent several hours each day watching the Christian broadcast channels TBN and other religious programs and church services.

Preceding in death were her parents: Robert Jenkins Kellam and Eula Brooks Kellam

Survivors include son: of Brandon, MS – James Robert Patrick

Daughter: of West, MS – Lynda Kaye Hendrick (James)

Grandaughter: of Brandon,MS – Shandy Elizabeth Walton (Brandon)

Great grandchildren: Jaiden Rayne Walton, Parker Brooks Walton

Grandaughter: of St. Petersburg, FL - Shelby Brooks Patrick

Great Granddaughter: Amiyah Skye Omari

Cousin: The Villages, FL - Edward Exum (Carol)

Nieces and nephews: Brett Kellam, Denise Kellam Holmes, Judith Kellam Kellstein

A ’Celebration of Life’ ceremony will be held at a later date.
